Webontario residents are being warned about a relatively new kind of fraud called sim swapping in which criminals steal personal information via mobile phones in order.

Webvictim receives a telephone call from the suspect portraying that they are a bank employee and alerts them that a fraud has been detected on their personal.

Financial institutions will never ask for assistance from the public for internal investigations.
