The bcm expects to talk to the radio over can bus, if it's not the original radio and you don't put a can bus adapter, it will continue blinking.

In mcbrew case, not sure why it could had the issue, but as you mentioned it went away once.

It’s advised to have the car inspected by a certified mechanic to diagnose.

So the radio died out of a sudden, and the odometer started obviously blinking because the bcm cannot connect to the head unit.

First thing to try.

I had the grounding wire for the ecu basically wear out.

You might even have problems with no bluetooth connection, or even a battery drain on the vehicle…it’s all down to the fi.

If one of the modules loses communication the odometer will flash.
